Voice over Internet Protocol is set to overtake analogue telephony with Asterisk based PBX technology. VoIP gives us the capability to give multiple lines through one analogue with a single broadband connection. A typical 2Mb connection will give 6 extensions with reduced rate phone calls. This has been made possible by the introduction of SIP (System Initiation Protocol) giving a single phone line 10 SIP channels will allow the user to make 10 concurrent calls on this single line. ipgenie visit

I am off to ipgenie right now to meet the team; I have spoken with all those involved with ipgenie on many occasions but sadly have never had the time to get over to ipgenie’s offices. Even worse than that is that ipgenie have moved their offices and are now in a multimillion pound data centre with all the bits and bob’s that one needs to make communication as simple as well as simple as lifting your receiver or clicking an icon.I hope that my trip to Ipgenie will be fun, and I look forward to meeting them all.
